Analyzing television advert conventions

Extreme close up (ECU) - to show something in extreme detail

Close up (CU)  - to show something in extreme detail and bring focus to a particular object

Long shot (LS) - whole body is visible - shows everything about that person in one shot

Wide shot (WS)

Medium shot (MS) - waist up - some body language but a lot of background

Point of view (POV)

Low angle - viewer inferior

High angle - makes character seem small and vulnerable - viewer in power

Over the shoulder (OTS)

Shot speed - abou 30 shots -


Voice over - non diagetic - someone speaking over what you are being shown - chris hemsworth is speaking - middle aged men is target audience
